Punk baby!

What are you looking at... never seen such a cute baby?

Mummy's daily routine

Joshton celebrated his full month last Saturday and we would like to thank all 'uncles & aunties' for their nice gifts and angbaos (which will be going to his endowment fund) for our dear boy.

Just realised that I forgot to change the setting to allow for comments on this blog! Thanks to hubby's fren for pointing that out :) So please feel free to leave your comments!

The past week has been real tiring, as my MIL went back after my confinement month and I have to do wake up for the nite duties. Barely had much sleep, plus Joshton has colic as well, so getting real cranky all week. We had a difficult time pacifying and calming him down. Let me describe my 3-hour repeat daily routine, and you will see why I'm so shack!

1 hour - Feeding
Gosh, my dear boy really is a super slow drinker! He takes 1 whole hour just to finish one feed, till my legs and hands get cramped.

1 hour - Carrying & rocking
Wonder if we have spoilt him! So the next hour after each feed is to rock him and try to put him back to the cot to sleep, which is such a tall task as he stirs everytime he touches the cot and starts to wail again.

1/2 hour - Pump milk
1/2 hour - wash & sterilise bottles / have my meals / bath

And it repeats again for the whole day! So being a mummy is having panda eyes, feeling like a cow and have aching pains from my back down to my finger tips....haha how wonderful :P

I'm really thankful to my MIL for helping out during the 1st month, and my mum now for cooking my meals and doing the household chores. Every minute of rest time is so precious now. Haiz...the newspapers and magazines have been piling up in my living room....hope I can find time to finish reading them!

Little chubby cheeks!

Baby Joshton is turning full month this coming Saturday. His look is changing every week and now he has full chubby cheeks like a cute hamburger! When he was born, everyone commented he looked like a "mini-me" of daddy. Now probably not so obvious, although the features like eyes and mouth take after daddy.

He has a bout of bad rashes all over his face :(, which the PD says is normal baby acne, and might last up to 6 months but will clear up eventually. Poor Joshton, hope it clears up soon so that he looks handsome for his full month party.

Joshton's mischievous thoughts part 2

pee-pee on daddy a few times when he's changing my diaper......weeeee, it was fun!

next time i shall aim higher!

Joshton's mischievous thoughts part 1

*yawns and peeps*.....hmm mummy left me to sleep in the cot again....

*pout*...like mummy to rock n sing me to sleep....time to cry for mummy!

Sleepless nites for mummy & daddy

The first week when Joshton came back home was honestly HEAVEN. He slept most of the time, waking up just for milk and pooed immediately after he's fed. So we were thinking.... hey it's not that tough to take care of this little one after all! Then came the second week where our angelic baby turned into a little terror.....

Now everytime he opens his bright little eyes, he demands to be carried or he will just wail on and on. During the nite, we have to rock him to sleep everytime...once you think he's asleep and put him down into the cot, he wakes up and cries again (smart little fellow). Think my bones are going to break soon from all the carrying :(

My "bro" Mr H says that babies born via c-section tend to be more temperamental, which my gal friend says it's true, including babies not born "naturally", like for induced babies as well.

After sleepless nites, with panda eyes and tired arms, we finally surrendered and brought out the ultimate secret weapon - the PACIFIER! At least now we can get some rest and baby Josh seems to like it.....now the problem of weaning him off the pacifier next time.... will worry about that later!

Arrival of my little bundle of joy!

Finally got down to doing a baby blog for my darling boy.....been wanting to do this blog since the start of my pregnancy to track the growing phases of my first-born in my tummy, but never got down to it!

Most frens would know that I went for an elective c-section operation. It was pretty uneventful, and not as scary as I thought. Everything happened so fast and before I knew it, baby was in my arms at the operating theatre. And so baby Joshton was born on 30 Oct 2008, 2.845 kg in weight and 50cm in height, healthy and well except for mild jaundice.

Baby Joshton is 2 weeks old now, happily drinking milk, sleeping, pee pee n pooing, while his inexperienced parents and his doting grandmas are fussing over him. It's amazing how this little fellow can change your world around, and now everything seems to center around him. Every smile brings a joy to us and every cry tugs at our hearts.

Now trying to find time to plan for Baby Josh's full-month celebration....if only he lets mummy take a rest and have some free time!
